Emmanuel at Brighton’s (EaB) popular summer camp programs offer forest and nature school experiences, connect children to their natural environment, and nurture their ecological identities. All programs and camps run by Emmanuel at Brighton are non-denominational. Camp activities include Indigenous teachings, fort building, tools, working with ropes, campfires, water activities, nature hikes, music, drumfit, cooperative games, yoga, mindfulness, picnics, drama, dance, sports, scavenger hunts, art activities, and science explorations, to name a few! Children spend the entire day outside rain or shine (unless there is thunder and lightning). Before registering, please read the payment and cancellation policies.

Junior Camp

  • Junior Forest and Nature Camp takes place at Emmanuel at Brighton (65 Noecker St. in Waterloo) and at Woodside Historic Site on Wednesdays (528 Wellington St. N in Kitchener)

  • For children currently in JK (born in 2019)

  • Camp runs from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Extended care is available 7:30 am-8:00 am and from 5:00 pm-5:30 pm at no additional charge if needed except on Wednesdays (Woodside day).

  • Weekly field trips to Woodside National Historic Site. Parents will drop off and pick up at the field trip location. Wednesdays at Woodside run from 8 am-5 pm (no extended hours).

  • Children enrolled in Junior Camp will have a hot lunch provided on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  On Wednesdays, children are required to bring a bagged lunch to the field trip location.  Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided everyday.

Senior Camp

  • Senior Forest and Nature Camp takes place on the property of Bloomingdale Mennonite Church located at 1151 Snyders Flats Road in Bloomingdale, Ontario. Bloomingdale Church is in the heart of a beautiful conservation area with scenic trails, lookouts onto the Grand River, a pristine pond, a meadow and forest ecosystems.

  • For children currently in SK to grade 5 (born in 2018 to 2013).

  • Camp runs from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, no extended care is available.

  • Parents drop off and pick up at Bloomingdale Mennonite Church (13-minute drive from Emmanuel)

  • Campers are required to bring a bagged lunch Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesdays, a pizza lunch will be provided. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided everyday.

Registration

Camp registration will be done in two parts. In Part 1, you will submit contact information and select your preferred camp weeks. If you secure a spot in camp, Part 2 will be used to collect the information we require for licensing (ie allergies, emergency contacts, etc).

A link to Part 1 of the registration form will be emailed to internal families February 21, 2024 and posted on the website for external families on March 1, 2024.

Camp Registration Link Part 1 -will open at 8:00 am on March 1, 2024. Please do not send any payment until your camp space has been confirmed.

Internal Emmanuel Families (families with a child currently enrolled at Emmanuel)- All currently enrolled families will receive Part 1 of the registration for Summer Camp by email on Februay 21 for children ages: JK - Grade 5 (born 2019 - 2013).

Public Registration- If there are any remaining spaces after internal families register, camp registration will open to the broader community on March 1, 2024 at 8:00 am.  (Camp Registration Link Part 1)

After you complete Part 1 of the registration and are offered a spot for your child in camp, you will be required to complete Part 2 of the registration process and submit payment within 5 business days in order to secure your spot. All camp spaces will be confirmed by March 15, 2024.

Emmanuel at Brighton’s Forest and Nature Camp is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Summer Camp registration must be completed online. Camp registration is NOT part of OneList. Please do not register for Emmanuel at Brighton camp through OneList because we will not receive it.

Available Weeks

Junior and Senior Forest and Nature Summer Camps run for 8 weeks. Registration is only available for full weeks. There are no limits to the number of weeks you can register for. Availability will be updated on a weekly basis.

Payment Information

Upon registration, fees are due in full by e-transfer to admissions@eabchildcare.com.

Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be provided in writing with 60 days notice prior to the start of the camp (by May 3) to be eligible for a full refund of any camp fees paid to date.

Cancellation requests received within 30 to 59 days written notice (between May 4 and June 2) will eligible for a refund minus a $75 cancellation fee per week, per child.

No refunds will be issued with less than 30 days notice (after June 2).

If you would like to request a change to the weeks you have your child registered for, it is only possible if there is space available in another week.

2024 Camp Fees

Children under 6 are eligible for reduced camp fees due to the Canada-Wide Early Learning Child Care Plan (CWELCC). The reduced fees are based on 2021 camp fee rates ($275 per week). The weekly camp fee for children under 6 is $130 per week ($106.30 for a 4 day a week) due to CWELCC fee reduction. 

For children over 6, the weekly fee for camp is $325 ($260 for 4 day week).
